Every month or more, I will be writing about Ireland, my travels there and our tours. Sometimes I will be a bit on the philosophical side. I hope you enjoy reading and learning with me. Ireland has been near and dear to me for as long as I can remember. In 1998, I traveled to Ireland to find out why I felt so drawn to the island. Spending a month there my first visit was certainly not something everyone can do and I feel quite fortunate to have been able to experience the true Ireland of the day. So much has changed from those days to the Celtic Tiger years to now, a dip again in the chaos that seems to engulf the Euro Zone.
Having ancestry in Ireland from Dublin and with Scots-Irish roots as well in Fermanagh, I traveled extensively throughout the North and South, conducting tours mainly to the North, when no one else was traveling there. As the years went on we expanded our touring base to the South of Ireland as well. You'll find me writing about the Island as one, because it is, the Island of Ireland and her people share a connection with so many in the United States no matter what walk of life we have chosen and no matter where we come from.
I look forward to getting to know you. I value and welcome your comments and look forward to the discussion of travel, living, learning and creating our sense of place together.
