Nancy Lee Bier, a dynamic leader, is co-founder, life member, and Past President of the prestigious British Isles Family History Society - U.S.A. She founded the societys Irish Study Group and served as leader for more than 15 years.
Nancy is a professional genealogist who has lectured extensively on British, Irish, and American research. She and Linda Jonas were co-trainers for the staff of the Los Angeles Family History Center. Nancy is the author of numerous articles and the co-author with Nancy Carlberg of A Crash Course in Irish Genealogy.
For more than twenty years Nancy has guided genealogical research trips to the British Isles. Before each trip she evaluates the pedigrees of tour participants and makes recommendations for research. Nancy knows how to research in each repository. During the tour, she guides each person in his/her individual research. She loves traveling all over the British Isles, but her favorite destination is always Ireland. About six years ago Nancy joined with Ginger Aarons-Garrison of Time Travel tours to produce a unique tour for genealogists and historians.
Nancy currently resides in Texas where she is planning genealogical seminars, lecturing, writing, and teaching how to find ancestors in the U.S. and Ireland as well as throughout the British Isles. She lectures at North Texas Community College.
